A vendor bid of $1.4 million for this dated two-level townhouse inspired nothing from the crowd of 30, so auctioneer Stewart Lopez referred the bid. Then came the first bid, from a real estate agent offering $1.41 million on behalf of a client. A young family countered with $1,415,000 and bidding went back and forth until the family's competitor bid $1.43 million. The property was passed in at that price. It sold afterwards for an undisclosed amount. The reserve had not been set.
